Holiday Recount

This week was our first for Term 2 and we constructed a holiday recount. My literacy group are Reception and Year 1 EALD learners. Currently they do not write independently so we started with pictures to prompt them.

Today, I turned their work into books. Instead of stapling it, I folder a second piece of A3 paper and glued it down the fold in the middle.

I asked children to decorate their front covers with the words "In the Holidays". While they were busy doing that, one to one, we wrote about their pictures.

I asked children to trace over my writing and copy it underneath. Some did this very well and everyone had a go.
